Shahukar Janaki’s history in cinema spans by over 385 films in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Hindi and Malayalam languages. The yesteryear actress debuted in the Telugu movie ‘Shahukaaru’ with NT Rama Rao, produced by Vijaya Productions. Even before her stint in movies, she was a radio jockey for Telugu programs at a tender age of 11. Being a stage artist, she has performed in 300 shows in India and abroad. One of it was her performance for Tana in two Telugu plays scripted by actor Murali Mohan.

Tollywood facing the brunt of terror attacks

Hyderabad Dec. 1: Tollywood seems to have taken the hit of the series of terror attacks in Mumbai with the occupancy in city’s theatres dropping by more than 40 per cent in the last three days. “Our film was released last Saturday. The first week collections are very important to any film. But there is a huge dip in the number of people turning up for shows due to fear of attacks. The collections have decreased drastically in the city,” said Mr Sai Kiran Adavi, the director of the film Vinayakudu.

What ever happened to Siddhartha after Bommarillu? It’s been two years that Bommarillu had been released and Siddhartha has had only one release called Aata after that. Why is no one willing to bank on a sellable star? There seems to be a bias based on caste factors in selecting heroes for films.

Rajamouli starts his next in April

Suneel’s debut to Telugu cinema started off with ‘Chirunavvutho’. He played a character artist and gained fame in ‘Nuvvu Nenu’ by director Teja. He had the skill to make the audiences laugh which made him a favorite among the masses as a comedy star. After playing a slew of movies in comical roles, he became a hero in ‘Andala Ramudu’ which became a hit.

Now on good times, Suneel got the opportunity to act in the movie to be made by blockbuster director SS Rajamouli who is currently directing Ramcharan Teja’s film.

It is learnt that the film will be made as an end-to-end comedy entertainer, and will go to the floors from April 2009.
